Get Involved

Make the Most of Your Meeting Experience by Volunteering!

The ACHA Annual Meeting offers a number of ways for you to engage with fellow meeting attendees and give back to the college health and well-being field. Volunteering also enhances your meeting experience, by providing opportunities for you to make connections with new colleagues.

"Don't be afraid to step up to volunteer, even if you are new to college health. We are always looking for folks with energy and a fresh perspective." – Jamie Shutter, MSEd (University of Missouri)

"A great way to engage with ACHA and its members is by serving as a presider or facilitator. The key at these meetings is simply to relax, learn, connect, and enjoy yourself." – Eileen Hineline, MS, RN-BC (Barry University)

Mentoring: Make a Connection. . .Make an Impact

We are pleased to continue offering mentoring sessions at this year’s meeting. Whether you're an emerging leader looking to connect with a mentor, or a more seasoned veteran wanting to make an impact on someone newer to the college health community – this one-on-one mentoring program is for you! Mentees will be paired with a mentor based on your availability and the information you provide via the sign-up form. Mentoring sessions will take place on Thursday, May 29 and will be 40 minutes long.

Engage with Presenters and Fellow Meeting Attendees

92% of presiders and facilitators completing the evaluation reported that they would volunteer for this role again.

We hope that you are excited to join your colleagues in Atlanta! If you would like an opportunity to be even more involved, now is your chance – by serving as a presider or facilitator for a session of your choosing! These key roles ensure that the sessions run smoothly, and it does not require you to commit a great deal of time.

  • Presiders introduce the speaker(s), make some general opening announcements (which we will script for you) and make sure that the session begins and ends on time. (Detailed information will be provided.)
  • Facilitators welcome attendees as they enter the room, distribute speaker handouts, and assist attendees with finding a seat if the room is crowded. (Detailed information will be provided.)

If you are interested in serving as a presider or facilitator, contact education@acha.org.

Share Your Knowledge of the Meeting with Newcomers

The Newcomers’ Orientation will take place Wednesday, May 28, 7:30 am – 8:45 am and includes a light breakfast. We’re in need of table facilitators who have attended one or more ACHA Annual Meetings to lead small group discussions on navigating the meeting. The orientation hosts will initiate the discussions and the table facilitators will help keep the conversation moving around the table and assist the newcomers by offering their own tips and guidance.
