The Garden District of New Orleans is known for its gorgeous mansions with the massive and ornamental architecture, the large evergreen Oaks that canopy the streets and the Mardi Gras Parades. From the mid 1800’s to the present day this area has been a mecca of beauty, drama, deception & wealth.
The land that is now the Garden District was once swamp, followed by plantations and finally individual lots for the homes we have now. Those same homes that were once occupied by Union and Confederate soldiers, Cotton and Sugar tycoons, and some of our own ancestors, are now the residences of celebrities & the infamous tycoons of modern day. 46% of them are still ancestral homes.
We will spend two hours walking these streets with you as we tell you all about the who’s and the why’s of yesteryear and modern day in this area.
DeAnna, your tour guide, is a native New Orleanian with family ties dating back to 1721 in the Crescent City. She is Tourism Director, and she is New Orleans top tour guide. It doesn’t get any better than that.

The Garden District is known for being home to the affluent but it's also home the famous Mayfair Witches, among others. Did you know some of New Orleans oldest families in the Uptown area have Witchcraft in their blood?
New Orleans is famous for its ghosts, vampires, and things that go bump in the night. When it comes to witches the main discussion is about TV series, books and movies filmed here on the subject. What about the real witches? The ones who came long before the stories. The ones who healed and changed lives of those who trusted their services.
On this 90-minute walking tour you will be guided by your very own local witch and discuss the history of witchcraft in the Garden District as well as see the film and literature sites. You will receive first-hand accounts of circles and spell casting as well as historical accuracies of familial lineages.
When:
Thursday, May 29, 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Where:
The French Quarter - 400 Esplanade Avenue (in front of the US Mint)
This is not your average historical French Quarter tour. This 90-minute walking tour is only given by tour guides who have generations of family ties in the New Orleans area and can tell you stories firsthand and the old history through the words of their own ancestors who lived it themselves.
Since 1718, New Orleans has been at the forefront of almost everything, good and bad. Whether it be legalized prostitution, the creation of jazz music, Mardi Gras parades, original cuisine, America’s first cocktail, or the multitude of floods and hurricanes, we have always been in the headlines.
Those stories just scratch the surface. The full history of New Orleans could fill volumes and still never be told in full.
On this tour you will feel as if you, yourself, are living in the stories as you time travel through centuries of our ups and downs. History takes on a different feel when told by the people who have lived it.
When:
Thursday, May 29, 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Where:
The French Quarter - 710 St Louis Street (in front of Sweet Saint Ice Cream)
On our Ghost tour you will hear about the actual events and captivating stories that reveal the details behind New Orleans history and hauntings. We will intrigue you with the colorful histories of those who chose to call New Orleans home and left us with their eerie stories and dark secrets. Walk with us among the shadows of their legends, down the uneven streets dimly lit by gas lights.
To know our ghosts is to know our history. It’s a sorted tale of more than 3 centuries of drama and death and our ancestors gave us volumes of it. It’s what makes us one of the most Haunted Cities in America.
Because our guides are locals with many generational ties to New Orleans, you won’t just hear the tired old ghost stories told by every tour company. You will hear amazing stories from those whose ancestors lived them.
Which of our local ghosts will visit you while in our city? Pay attention. You just never know who might want to say hello.
When:
Saturday, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Where:
3421 Esplanade Ave
In America we are unique in the “recycling and rotation” of our loved ones in our family tombs. Room for 2 in a coffin doesn’t stop us from burying hundreds in that same tomb. Yes, you read that right. Some hear the stories of what we do and think we are very macabre, but we are doing exactly what should be done.
We would love to show you around one of our cities of the dead, as they are called. On our cemetery tour you visit one of our actual family tombs and we will tell you, not only how we bury, but also the stories of who’s inside.
That’s how we keep the light on for our ancestors who are long gone. We never stop telling their stories and we would love you to join us for a 90-minute session.
Your guide will be a native New Orleanian and has ancestors buried in the cemetery you will visit.
