What’s New?
The Covenant House: Give Back to the NOLA Community!
ACHA 2025 will be hosting a Hygiene Item Donation Drive for the Covenant House’s 24/7 Care Center in New Orleans. This will be the perfect opportunity to give directly to the NOLA community and support youth in immediate need during your time at the Annual Meeting. Your donation of full-sized hygiene items may include:
- Deodorant—their primary need and easy to pack in your carryon or suitcase!
- Shower Gel
- Shampoo & Conditioner
- Body Lotion
- Menstrual Products
- Haircare Products for natural hair—80% of their youth are Black, so it’s important to have products they can use!
Bystander Response Training
Tuesday, May 27, 9:00am-12:00pm
ACHA is partnering with NOLA Ready to offer a three-hour combined Bystander Response Training. NOLA Ready is the city’s Emergency Preparedness Campaign, providing a direct connection between New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness’ (NOHSEP) and the city. The combined training includes three courses:
- Hands-Only CPR: covers compression only CPR (no mouth-to-mouth), how to use an AED, and actions to take if someone is choking.
- Stop the Bleed: covers actions such as applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and utilizing a tourniquet when someone suffers a severe bleeding injury.
- Overdose Response: this training will teach you how to recognize the signs of opioid overdose and to administer Naloxone, a medication that can reverse an overdose.
This is a great opportunity to learn invaluable skills and connect with other attendees.
Advanced sign up is required as there are limited spots available.

All tours are just $30 and are a 10-20 minute car ride from the hotel. ACHA meeting attendees are responsible for their own transportation.
Important Reminders:
- Share your photos – and be featured on our Opening General Session slideshow! We’re looking to showcase snapshots of campus health professionals, health promotion events, and students practicing healthy behaviors.
- Don’t miss out on the Pre-Conference Workshops, designed to give you actionable strategies to take back to your campus! You can add a workshop to your registration by going back into the site with the same login you used initially and adding it.
- Primary Presenters – If you haven’t yet registered for the meeting, do so today. And don’t forget to complete your AV Request Form so we can make sure you have what you need for a successful presentation.
And to get even more out of your meeting experience:

- Volunteer to be a Session Presider or Facilitator. ACHA presenters rely on presiders and facilitators to assist them during their presentations. If you are interested in signing up, contact education@acha.org.
- Sign up to be a mentee and spend 40 minutes with a seasoned ACHA member talking about a topic of your choice. You are only one click away from making a great connection!
- Did you have a mentor early in your career in college health and well-being? Now it’s your turn to be that impactful person for someone else. Sign up to be a mentor today and make a difference!
Please note: The volunteer opportunities listed above are not open to attendees who are Guests, Sustaining Members, or Exhibitors
